德國獨立測試機構AV-Test剛剛公佈了的2010年第四季度的殺毒軟件評測報告，在去年第四季度，AV-Test對22款安全防護軟件的防護、修復和可用性進行了評估測試。其中，微軟免費殺毒軟件MSE 1.0以不錯的成績通過了認證。德國獨立測試機構AV-Test在10月、11月、12月分別對22款殺毒軟件進行三大方面的測試，包括防護（動態和靜態惡意代碼檢測）、修復（系 統殺毒和Rootkit清除）和性能（使用該工具造成的系統變慢以及誤報數量）。測試平台選用了Windows Vista系統，每項測試滿分6.0，一款殺毒軟件的綜合得分只有超過12分才能通過AV-Test認證。 據測試結果，22款參測殺毒軟件中有18款都通過了認證，不過只有微軟的這款殺毒軟件是完全免費提供給普通消費者和小企業用戶的。在三項測試中，微軟MSE的「防護」測試得分較低，僅為2.5，不過「修復」和「可用性」測試中表現不錯，得分分別為4.5、5.0。去年12月底時，微軟對MSE進行了升級，正式發佈了MSE 2.0，整合了Windows防火牆、採用了新的防護引擎和網絡檢測系統，並且加強了對來自Web的風險防護。
